The Library System

The Berkeley County Library System consists of six library buildings and one administration building. The Main Library is located in Moncks Corner.

The library system employs eleven full-time professional librarians, thirty-five full-time support staff, 7 part-time support staff and 2 temporary workers.

 FY 2009-2010  (July 1, 2009 -- June 30, 2010)

public computers were used 76,327 times.

Customers with their own laptops accessed our WI-Fi 3,694 times.

Moncks Corner and Goose Creek serveD an average of 395 customers per day. 

Daniel Island and Sangaree serveD an average of 175 customers per day.

The library circulates system-wide more than 683,800 items per fiscal year with a 90.5% increase of over the last four fiscal years.

While the size of our collection of ALL materials increased by only 13% over the last four fiscal years...DVD, Audiobook and Music checkout increased 492.9%.
